Judging from its contents the "old self" never left. We now know all we could've possibly needed to know about the TV set-up at Cedar Village. hahaha (I think kj was a Southerner in a previous life. The Goyguy Sr's make a Russian novel out of every experience they have too!) It's sad Loretta's and the Upper Krust weren't reborn there though.
But seriously folks, when somebody makes their presence known over a long stretch of time and their trademarks grow familiar it's always noticed (and lamented) when they're absent. I bet the elevator in kj's house has been rediscovered for usefulness. The big, burning question, though, is: how did the cat react when Dad came home?

The cat raised the usual fit I hoped she would.

Glad to see you back, Mr. Brill.

Just out of curiosity, did you also get a hefty bill for ambulance services?

Glad you're OK - you've been missed.

I'm even sorrier to hear about your misadventures in rehab. Sounds like a racket. Although I'll bet you gave the staff something to talk about for the next few months.
