Where has Kjbrill gone off to? He usually posts every day but his profile shows his last activity was:

Hope he is ok, we still need someone here with an intimate knowledge of all Mason has to offer

Dang, where is he? I noticed his posting frequency went down but I had no clue he hadn't been on in so long.

I really hope he is ok. One guy that was always fun to discuss current issues with, and even in his age he had a very good perspective and understanding on current development.

Good observation. Let's hope it is a trip to a warmer sunnier climate.

Humph. Nobody misses me when I go on vacation.
Maybe he's gotten around to actually writing his memoirs instead of putting chapters into various City-Data threads to steer them off topic. But seriously, folks - he's not one to make much of such things, but his wife has been in poor health for some time. He's always graciously sent regrets for not attending the sporadic meet-ups that happen because of what her needs entail. So hopefully nothing major has come up with her.
Over the years a few people have also drifted to a C-D copycat whose name conveniently escapes me, and to the Urban Ohio Website - which is considerably more wonk-ish and less "chatty" than this one. (Matter of fact, he's on UO under the same screen name.) These folks leave without saying goodbye. If I see a sign-in from him there which is more recent I'll shoot him a message that he's being inquired after.
Raising an alarm after one week's a bit excessive, though, IMHO. Especially because, not only does he have his spouse to worry about there are also five kids + four kid-in-laws + grandchildren in his familial picture. Contrary to popular perception, even "chronic" posters here do have lives.

I too thought of his wife - he's mentioned her several times and its no secret she's had some significant medical issues. Like you though, I hope he's just enjoying a nice vacation somewhere such that CD is the last thing on his mind.

I miss you when you're gone GoyGuy (I enjoy your posts so much!), but I post so intermittently myself that most wouldn't know I'm around.. so I'm afraid that's not much of an ego boost for you.

He's probably listed in the telephone book.

I (and most people) steer clear of using their own names to identify themselves in an online environment because of how there seem to be far more lurkers than participants. This is how vacationers return home to trashed and robbed houses, individuals get stalked and worse, etc. If my real first initial and last name were G. Oyguy I'd be severely creeped out if anyone ever phoned out of the blue and said, "I follow you on City-Data." So I hope nobody decides to play detective here.
The Goyguy Sr's let me know when someone we know has died, so I never check the 'nati obituaries. That doesn't stop any locals from scanning that page in the Enquirer, though - just saying.
BTW there is no "kjbrill" on the Urban Ohio membership list now. Not that that means much - I signed on there but visit once a month, if that, and have almost never posted. He may have done a trial run and decided against staying on board there.
All we can and should do is wait with crossed fingers, I think.

I am pretty sure I could find him, but for the first time in history I have to agree with Goyboy that it would be creepy. Let's think the best of our old friend's absence. Pina coladas and warm sand.
