You will find many joggers in both Hyde Park and Mt Lookout. These are not scheduled events, just people doing their thing. But recognize you are on the banks of the Ohio River, so don't expect to be leisurely traveling on flat land. The hilly terrain also is a deterrent to others looking for easy pickings. It is a very safe place to live. Some of the nicest homes in the City are located there. Once you get high enough up the hills, streets like Observatory and Madison Rd. are much less hilly and where the leisure joggers will concentrate.

What a menagerie. It looked more like a stampede for free donuts at the Free Store than athletes training. Will someone please tell these people that a flying Pig Marathon by persons who do not run regularly is more dangerous to their health and safety than smoking and a daily meal at a fast food restaurant.

Good point, but I would think the participants could tell that right off after their first training session.

Hyde park is good per midwest standards, but San jose California makes Hyde park look like couch potatoe city. San Jose is healthy!

Of course, houses are a lot more expensive in San Jose than Hyde Park, but mostly not as nice. Jan Jose is a big city, most of which is undesirable. It does have some lovely foothills suburbs.

Here is your typical $675,000 house in San Jose:

And exactly what is healthy about San Jose? Just north of San Jose is another city, Campeill, which attracted tech people in droves by the climate probably 40 years ago. I went there to participate in projects sponsored by the big boys, and back then there was only one Big Boy - IBM.

But tell me what exactly is healthy about the area? Basically a CF desert environment, though not as bad as Southern CF, but desert none the less. So please tell me exactly what is healthy about the area?

Actually, there are more obese people in California than there are total residents of Ohio. And, if one compared persons of the entire range of body mass index from the average lowest to highest, in street clothes one could not tell the difference.

San Jose, CA Health Index

Air quality in San Jose, CA is 78 on a scale to 100 (higher is better). U.S. average 93. This is based on ozone alert days and number of pollutants in the air, as reported by the EPA.
Water quality in San Jose, CA is 40 on a scale to 100 (higher is better). The EPA has a complex method of measuring watershed quality using 15 indicators.
Superfund index is 10 on a scale to 100 (higher is better). This is upon the number and impact of EPA Superfund pollution sites in the county, including spending on the cleanup efforts.

Finally, the life expectancy at birth in Hyde Park is 83.2 years compared to 79.2 in San Jose. That difference, four (4) years, is more than the difference in the top 30 countries of the World and puts San Jose down with Germany and Costa Rica and puts Hyde Park up there with Iceland and Sweden.
