Forgive me, I know this is going to sound utterly ridiculous coming from me, since we've been east side focused, but given the continuing rumor that when NIOSH moves (2020 if we're lucky), it'll likely be over to the UC side of things like EPA, we are expanding our horizons.

Plus, we have happily overcome the "anti-old" lead-paint issue, so I have way more freedom.

On to my question: newish gated community immediately adjacent to Corryville Rec Center has an acceptable price and everything we're looking for. If we're going out at night, it will always be by car, and except for walking to a library or park, if there's one nearby, we probably won't walk much during the day, either. So, given that, what do you think? No expectations of extreme quiet, but would it be party central? We want the kids to be able to sleep.

The commute would be a great reverse straight up 71, and it puts us closer to the airport, which would be nice. I'm on the kindle, so I can't readily link to my past posts, but 3 bedroom with a garage is our goal. Under $1500.

Do you mean Stetson Square? Welcome to the Village at Stetson Square

It's designed more as a place for singles and couples. The only person I know who lived there (briefly) in an apartment described it as "Melrose Place for UC residents".

They didn't put a name on the listing, but that looks right from the pics. Yup, we'll be avoiding that. Truthfully, it's a desperation tactic at this point, but movers come tomorrow and then we can finally spend enough time in town to find a place. Yay...maybe I'll find more enthusiasm later... Thanks!

Dang.... I'm really sorry to hear about the crunched timeline.

Hopefully whatever you find works out. Moving is a pain in the neck to do. If I were you, I wouldn't hesitate to ask a couple realtors in your target neighborhoods about the possibility of renting a home currently on the market for about 6-9 months. In particular an outdated home with an estate sale might be a good candidate for such an option assuming all the owners would be willing. That would let you try out somewhere that you may actually want to be for a short time and give you a good grounding in the city.

Either way, good luck! And welcome to Cincinnati... just wish it was under better circumstances.
