Albuquerque has had a Medical School for years.....it's called UNM!
Take a look at the census figures, Albuquerque is actually growing faster than el paso......without assistance from the federal government. Without Ft Bliss adding 30,000 soldiers in the last three years plus their families, where would el paso be? Give it some thought, I'm not trying to bust your little bubble.....I know your ecstatic about el paso sucking on the federal $$$$ teet. But when it stops it's going to be a horrible crash. Albuquerque's growth is more progressive, with corporations and high tech industries.

Which creates a more steady and prolonged growth, the Albuquerque Metro area will hit 1 million in about five years.
You're TOTALLY wrong! I'll be giving you the TRUE FACTS soon observe,
STAY TUNED!
Albuquerque, New Mexico, has emerged as a very healthy environment for business. State and local government have created a wide range of tax incentives that reward business growth and relocation, and they’ve made significant, forward-looking investments in key economic building blocks such as infrastructure, education and sustainability. Add to that several national laboratories, a large population of highly educated workers and a growing number of companies that have already located here, and what you have in Albuquerque is a diverse, well-grounded economic environment.
And while Albuquerque’s quality of life may seem like the frosting on the cake, it’s some very tasty frosting.
The Albuquerque Metro population will reach 1 million in about 5 years.

albuquerque, mew mexico does have high tech industry, but it's always been at a LOW scale, don't mean to burst your bubble. Where was albuquerque during the past few years during America's financial crisis? and where is it now? That frosting on the cake sure did go stale!

El Paso Metroplex? 3.5 million! El Paso, Las Cruces, Juarez ALL side by side
(take your zanax, I know you're going to have a fit, but it's a FACT lol)
Idk if its just me but all these proposals are just getting real annoying. And hotdesert just deal with the fact that Tucson and Albuquerque are better than El Paso. Just look at the poll.
