Latino's don't live in Dallas? Are you kidding? Middle Easterners don't live in DFW? There aren't as many as Houston, but they are definitely here.

You had it backward from the start. Metro Houston has a higher percentage of Latino's and African-Americans. That is the difference. However, those communities are repersented here in very large numbers. The "others" including Asians and people from other parts of the world are insignificant on the whole. There are almost as many here and they are just as integrated.

Im talking about this thread not whats going on in the past. .. So looking thru this thread Texas posters are making sarcastic remarks about Atlantas role in this country... You guys are having a hard time excepting this matter. Even if there was a 100 list put out there ranking Atlanta above Houston. You will not agree with all 100.. Its funny how about 4 different instutions put Atlanta above Houston.. Is this by mistake. Or did they call each other and say lets put Atlanta above those 2 cities. or where these studies done at different times....

How exactly is that minimizing something Atlanta has? Especially when it's the truth? It's like when you were saying oil inflates Houston's GDP. And I remember seeing gas near five dollars in some areas.

"YOU see!" subjective ... but in numerous studies no, fact sorry.

In most studies Atlanta is the most important in the south, but I'm to going say this
  • Culturally Miami, Miami is the most well know city in the south for cultural experience and It's a getaway to Latin America/Caribbean
  • Economically Houston, Obviously no matter how Houston economy is, Houston profit the most.
  • Socially Atlanta, logistics, mass media, and education. Things that are more important socially than profit.
  • Population Dallas, DFW self explanatory

DFW and Atlanta are large logistics and communication hubs. Maybe not as important as energy, but nevertheless important. I doubt some of the Houston posters would bother to admit that though.

Right now on a pasture somewhere, a horse is begging, "Please stop beating me!"

It goes with the tone of this entire thread. You mentioned CNN, and then had to marginalize it right away saying it was losing ground to Fox (gag me) and MSNBC.

It's pretty obvious what is going on here.

Why can't people just ignore these threads?

Give Atlanta the title, it doesn't really matter. I doubt anyones opinion has changed or will change after looking at this thread. All the Houston boosters will continue to think that Houston is more important, etc. The way I see it is, if anyone of these 4 metros dissapeared, which one will impact the world the most? Ask yourself that, and you have an answer. 440 posts, and this is the first time I look into this thread, thank god.
