I thought he meant geographically but now I think cities that aren't ever featured in movies or television in which there are many. Of the top 20 metros the ones that come to mind are:
Riverside, St. Louis, Minneapolis, Tampa
Houston is mentioned in nearly any movie with an element of outer space. "Houston we have a problem?" cut to some guy in Nasa, "We'll get you home safely"
Phoenix unless I'm mistaken (I'm not looking this up) was the setting for Breaking Bad. I suppose still is, I think its still in production.
Detroit has Robocop
Austin isn't in the top 20
The others have so many its not worth discussion.
actually Breaking Bad is filmed and based in Albuquerque, along with In Plain Sight.
Thats some interesting stuff, but what I really meant is Phoenix doesn't have like a nice long list of movies that are popular made in the city.
Arizona as a whole has had a huge number of movies/television shows, etc. that were filmed either entirely or partially there, whether in Tucson, Phoenix, or other parts.

I don't see how it's a big deal. The Hollywood movie industry is small potatoes in the business world.
For example, ever hear of Mosaic Corp? Probably not. It's only the 10th largest company in Minneapolis/St.Paul. 10th.
Their annual revenue is $10.3 billion. That's more than the entire Hollywood movie industry combined. In other words, a medium-sized corporation that makes fertilizer in the Midwest has annual revenue that is greater than an entire industry that some people obsess about. The economic impact of movies just does not warrant much discussion.
And whether or not a single movie is set in one city or another is as relevant as arguing over the set design of a play. The locations are almost always just window dressing to the story. Many of the movies mentioned could have been set in Beaverlick, Arkansas for all it mattered.
Your opinion ? I would say Houston ! This city is really ignored by hollywood !
None of the above listed. I'd say San Jose, CA. We're the 10th largest in population but are often generically lumped together with neighboring citeies as "Silicon Valley" and live in the shadow of our smaller sister city to the north, San Francisco.
