what are you gonna do when Philly exits the top 10 metros in 7 years? It is you know
but at least you will have the NY CSA to fall back on by then
Well there will always be reality for one, actually going out and experiencing what real cities have to offer, and not so fast on both MSA and CSA. Plus on the more relevant UA, no worries...

I would believe that if you didn't spend page after page discussing MSA size and distances from each other and what was robbed from Philly.
But you are right, when you are in Houston in your nice house with your wife, dog and 2.7 kids you will be experiencing what a real city has to offer

Most people just cower and get quiet when UA is discussed, they dont like that metric for some reason and think there should be nothing urban about cities

There is nothing wrong with that metric and I would never say that there should be nothing urban about cities. I just would not want to live in one that is too urban.
My list looks good enough to be revised. San Diego gained less than 10,000 and Phoenix lost over 5,000. The US Census Bureau also revised their list. That's right. I'll get to that after this.
The largest city propers in 2010:
1. New York City 8.6m
2. Los Angeles 4.2m
3. Chicago 2.9m
4. Houston 2.4m
5. Phoenix 1.55m
6. Philadelphia 1.55m
7. San Antonio 1.45m
8. San Diego 1.4m
9. Dallas 1.35m
10. San Jose 1.1m
So San Diego's metro keeps up to over 3.0 million, while the city keeps up to over 1.4 million - that's a gain of about 10,000 in the city, and, in the metro, over 35,000 people inned. San Diego can go back to 15th in the metro . (SD-TJ: 5.2m)
The largest metros in the US in 2010: (MSAs , CSAs )
1. New York City 19.4m (NYC-PHI 28.9m)
2. Los Angeles 13.9m (LA-SD 21.1m)
3. Chicago 9.9m
4. Dallas-Ft. Worth 6.4m
5. Houston 6.1m
6. Philadelphia 6.0m
7. Miami 5.7m
8. Washington, DC 5.5m
9. Atlanta 5.5m
10. San Diego-Tijuana* 5.2m
The population of the states:
1. California 39.1m
2. Texas 25.7m
3. New York 19.2m
4. Florida 17.3m
