Hmmmm , yea like i said nothing can beat the Northeast
I think that LA Beats everything , but NYC and Philly...........in 9 years.....
The amtrack Cascades is using high speed french talgo trains that go 120mph already . They just can reach top speeds now because they need track improvments and grade seperation throug cities. Wich is being done now with the stimulus money . They say the line should be fully runnin in a couple of years at top speed. Washington started building there rail line ten years ago so they have a head start . They even have the tilting trains already and you can ride on them. Soon it will be faster to take the train to portland rather than a plain or drive.
LA high speed trains will reach the speed of 220 miles per hour....
High speed rail is already being constructed between Portland and Vancouver?? I had not heard that. I thought California's HSR was the furthest along, and it is not under construction yet.
Chi - StL has already begun improvements. Thank you stimulus monies.

Love the map, but that is pretty outdated. Several of the routes for 2015 have been cancelled by local governments. It would have been cool though.
To my knowledge, only three have been axed, Ohio, Wisconsin and Florida. Am I missing any others?
