From about the middle of June until the last week or so of August it is. The rest of the year is pleasant to frigid, but those two and a half months will make you question the existence of god/your past life karma.
There are no bugs in your part of the South? Really?
Seriously though someone living in a highrise in Midtown probably wont have to deal with it anywhere near as much as someone living in a house in the suburbs surrounded by woods. It was a neccesity having the exterminator this time of year. Even then you see one or two of them every month or so. During the winter not so much if at all. Denver on the other hand has some pretty good sized spiders lurking around in their basements
LOL, you and I both know that I never said anything about the south not having any, and I understand what you're saying and agree based on your location.
I really wasn't trying to be an ass, well... *maybe a little* but you have to admit, your original statement made it seem as if the possibility of sustaining a roach-free existence in the City of Atlanta was incomprehensible, which I found consummately laughable to say the least. So I apologize, *maybe*.
But yeah, I'd be two steps ahead of you given the circumstances though, seriously man. Good luck with your move!

What is this claim that schools are better in Atlanta? Universities yes....but I don't think that's what should encompass "schools" when prompted the question. You can go to college anywhere, but K-12 you kind of have to live nearby.
Climate: Atlanta- I actually had to think about this one for a while and while I love the dry air and sunny weather in Denver, its really cold and snowy just a little too much out of the year in Denver. On the other hand they don't have to deal with the high humidity and heat part of the year so it's pretty close.
Public Transit: Atlanta - I've used both Denver's light rail and MARTA rail and MARTA is much better. Also Atlanta has more bus routes to connect you to the train stations.
Downtown area: Denver- I loved 16th Street Mall and LODO. Atlanta has some nice attractions around Cenntenial Park and CNN the Aquarium etc. but not nearly so nice an environment. I prefer Midtown and Atlantic Station in Atlanta to Downtown for hanging out.
Suburbs: Atlanta- Atlanta has a greater variety of suburbs
Scenery: Denver- You can't beat looking West and seeing views of one of the most spectacular mountain ranges in the World from just about anywhere in the Metro. But I am glad to see all the trees and hills whenever I return to Georgia from anywhere.
Vibe: Atlanta seems more exciting and lively to me and Denver more laid back. But I could see how if someone didn't know what to do in Atlanta and were in one of it's quite neighborhoods they would think the opposite.
Culture: Atlanta- It's my favorite thing about Atlanta but not for everyone I guess. Denver has a great outdoor lifestyle though if that's what you're really into.
Food: Atlanta- Denver has some great food don't get me wrong but Atlanta has more choices only because it's larger.
Diversity: Atlanta- I saw mostly Mexicans, Whites and a few Blacks and Asians in Denver. As soon as I arrived back in Atlanta the Airport was crawling with Koreans there are African immigrants, Hispanics of all sorts and lots of African Americans in addition to Whites from other parts of the World.
Schools: K-12 definitely Denver. Universities and Colleges definitely Atlanta.
Live in denial much? Its the south and they are there. I paid an exterminator monthly, had a nice house, condo and apartment while I was living there. Guess what there were bugs in each place. It is a heavily wooded very humid climate. Get over it and yes I KNOW you do.
I've lived in the South most of my life including South Georgia which is far buggier than Atlanta and to say you can't live in a roach free house without getting exterminators is just flat out wrong. Yes you do have to keep a clean house. If you leave food and water or trash laying around alot there's a good chance you'll get them but I'm a bit of a slob and I don't have them in my house. A good friend of mine is a real neat freak and she would DIE if she saw a roach in her apartment. Also if you have wet or rotting wood anywhere in your house frame or walls you need to see about that. Not only because that will attract roaches but because it's bad for your house period.
Climate: Denver
Public Transit: Atlanta
Downtown area: Denver
Suburbs: Tie You can't convince me one has better suburbs than the other because I think all suburbs suck Scenery: Tie
Vibe: Denver
Culture: Atlanta
Food: Atlanta
Diversity: Atlanta has a larger Black or African American population, but Denver has a higher Hispanic/Latino and Asian populations.
Schools: Atlanta
Music Scene: Atlanta
I like both, but I'm going with Denver. I really like the vibe, people, the weather and the mountains.
Denver wins the scenery battle by about a gazillion miles. It's a rout ... like the U.S. going to war against Liechtenstein.

Not really. Most of my family that has moved to Denver actually prefer the scenery in Georgia. Sure the Mountains are great but Denver is pretty flat, treeless and boring when you're not looking at a view of the mountains. That flatness helps you see the mountains and skyline better but Atlanta has gorgeous scenery as well. The Atlanta area has lots of steep hills and small (yes I know very small by Colorado standards) mountains to the north and it is built in a beautiful forest. I've seen a lot of people on City Data complain about how brown Denver is and Atlanta is very green. This time of year with all the flowers blooming it's breath taking. So yeah I could see how some would favor Atlanta's scenery.

I agree with you! But...People complain about "Brown Denver" because they don't have all seasons for there city to be "brown as well"
