Out to bash...
I'm not a "bashing ATL poster"; I used to live in Charlotte and may be moving back. Every city has lots of foot traffic during the day. Charlotte still shouldn't be mentioned along with the likes of NOLA, Charleston, and Savannah.

I would have included New Orleans but I tired to match big MSA populations. New Orleans is probably a winner if included becuase of density.

New Orleans and Atlanta would lead. What does this have to do with outshining Houston and Dallas?

Among southern cities, I would say they meet the criteria. The most vibrant in the South? Probably not...but the poll isn't about what the "most vibrant city in the South" is...it's which one of these Southern cities has the most foot traffic in the city. Ergo, no other Southern cities matter.

Houston and Dallas dont seem to be on par with Atlanta when it comes to foot traffic

That is fact, nothing is wrong with fact. Downtown Houston is dead after working hours. It's Houstons fault, not Atlanta, and I live in Houston.

Downtown Houston =/= Houston.

I thought it was the overall city and not just downtown; Houston metropolitan area has the lowest car ownership out of it,Atlanta and Dallas.

I voted for Atlanta, during my time at GSU I would find myself walking everywhere. One of my favorite walks was from GSU to Arts Center MARTA station. Walking down Peachtree should be on every Atlantans bucket list there is some really nice things on that street. (I also caused a accident on that walk but that a story for another day.)

Exactly.

With that said, of these four cities, Atlanta takes the cake.

First an old school pic just for fun:
