I've only been to South Padre Island, TX twice and I very much loved it.

Probably one of my favorite drive into's in the country and I've heard great things about Saint Simons Island, GA and that it along with Myrtle Beach, SC are amazing vacation destinations. I'll vote for Padre since I know it better in this sense, but I'm all for learning more of the other island and how it compares.

It's not a personal thread for me, but I'm just looking for information to see how they would compare and contrast and which one is a better vacation spot.

Criteria:
- Beaches
- Residentials
- Nightlife
- Activities
- Weather
- Water temperatures
- Locals (friendly or what?)
- Tourism
- Anything else you can think of

Here's South Padre Island, TX:

Here is Saint Simons Island, GA:

St Simons is really more family oriented, I know S. Padre is a spring break paradise.

I voted for St. Simon's Island, GA because it's closer to me, and there's this BBQ place in nearby Brunswick that I liked.
