But seriously you are going to say with a straight face that Howard beats the AUC but then most of the people on your list comprise of B actors, frickin Marlon Wayans, and Cole from Martin (or cockroach from the Cosby show if you are old enough). We've got W.E.B Dubois, MLK and whole host of others. Come on now son...

PS

Dude seriously, you put people like La La Vasquez,Diddy, and Vernon Jordan on your list. You can do Howard better than that.
What's the difference between Diddy and Spike Lee? Samuel Jackson and Taraji P. Henson? I just gave you a snapshot of Howard's alums. I left out Zora Neal Hurston, Benjamin O' Davis, Benjamin Hooks, etc...the list can run circles around Morehouse and Spellman.

P Diddy is a coke snorting opportunist who got rich off of other people's talent. Spike Lee is one of the most influential film directors in American cinema.

Nothing really, but I don't think you can argue that Samuel Jackson is far more famous and respected as an actor. Nothing against Ms. Henson though. By the way, I notice you always bring her up. She is fine, but damn dude, try not to drool so much. LOL

Here's the thing. You chose to go down the path of highlighting famous and semi-famous people for the most part (as well as a dude who once played a characther named Cockroach). Point blank, Howard's alumni list does not run circles around the AUCs alumni list and they in fact compare quite evenly in all regards.

Your pursuit in this is disrespectful to both institutions bruh. Just lay off it.

As much as I hate Diddy, he arguably changed the music game bringing samples into play and he undoubtedly has a knack for finding talent. I don't think Spike Lee's contribution to film is more significant than Diddy's impact on the music scene. Diddy is still relevant and Spike's claim to fame lately has been picking fights with Tyler Perry.

Hmmmm - Taraji has more movies than Sam the past 5 years, plus she has been nominated for an Academy Award. (See Benjamin Button).

Stop playing slim. You're mad because I can continue to give you a list of Howard notables that stretch far and wide in areas of medicine, technology, politics, healthcare, entertainment and academics that ATL HBCU's cannot compete with. There is a reason why they call Howard "The Mecca." You should gracefully bow out.

So you highlighted that by showing a Wayans brother attended Howard? I see....

I am not in fact mad at anything. I never once questioned the great contribution Howard has given society. I only questioned your bizarre notion that it is some how leagues above AUC schools which it is not. I have no desire of getting into a pissing contest on this matter, slim.

ATL...if not only because of the AUC as a whole being centralized in one location.

GA HBCUs Vs. NC HBCUs would be a nice debate was well.

I'm a junior at Howard. Never thought I could feel so much pride for a school. I wished more black youth would give their institutions a chance. If you're intelligent enough to get into

Ivys
Duke
MIT
Stanford
Berkeley
Georgetown
Caltech

you're intelligent enough to get a full scholarship at

Howard
Morehouse
Spelman
Hampton
Clark / A&T / FAMU

You can enjoy being submersed in your "culture" for your undergraduate years and you can go ivy for grad school (law, business, medical, dental). You can still get the offer at Google, JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs, Bank of America, Apple and Microsoft.

With all of that said, I gotta chose home court. Morehouse & Spelman seems like dwarfs when you compare them to Howard. If you combine the entire AUC (sans Morris Brown now), Howard still has more kids. Morehouse & Spelman are great schools, I just always looked at Howard as the "Black Harvard".

Adam Clayton Powell
Toni Morrison
Debbie Allen

Kenny Latimore
Laz Alonzo
Taraji P. Henson
Carl Anthony Payne
Roxie Roker
Wendy Raquel Robinson
Marlon Wayans

I want to preface this by saying that I go to Howard. As much as I love my school, Morehouse is the alma mater of Dr. King. He almost competes with that list you put up by himself.

@ the disrespect for Sean Combs. He's probably the most successful person to ever attend a HBCU. I don't know too many Howard-House-Spelman alumni who are worth $400-$500 Million.

1. My dislike of Sean Combs has nothing to do with Howard. He could have gone to the 'House and I would still feel the same way.

2. I don't believe for a second he has that much money.

3. He is most definitely not the most successful person in business or entertainment to ever attend an HBCU. LOL

4. There are PLENTY of 'House grads that make serious cash. For example, the President of the school while I was there and a alum was the Chairman of Bank of America just a few years before the recession hit. That's not really indicator of anything though. Dr. King himself lived on a preacher's salary (not Creflo "Wheres my money" Dollar salary) and gave away all of his Nobel prize money. You don't need money to be great.

Nope. Oprah went to Tennessee State University.
