Once again though alacran fails to see that IT IS A FACT that Denver has warmer winters than chicago. A FACT!!! Sure there will be days where chicago is warmer, but over the last 100 years,
Denver is the warmer city.

I think you need to take a visit to denver.

I promise you..if chicago has winters that are anything like minneapolis, you are very wrong.

Just this week chicago will have highs in the 30s and 40s. While denver will be in the 40s and 50s.

Pittsburgh has had 2.5" of snow this "winter period" (July 1, 2011-June 30, 2012), with 1.6" of it falling on October 29. Only a trace fell in November, and only 0.9" has fallen in December to date.

Seems like most of the eastern U.S. has lacked snow and cold so far, with the exception of one freak late-October snowstorm in New England and parts of the Mid-Atlantic.
