It is too easy to say Coastal CA has great weather. But the world is not perfect.
The tough question is, Chicago or Houston?
For me, it depends on how many days the highs are between 50 and 90F. Below 50 and above 90 are equally uncomfortable, isn't it? Plus the number of sunshine hours.
It seems outside Cafornia, there are not really many big cities with great weather. Miami? I don't have the stats, but maybe New York/DC beats it in terms of weather. Correct me if I am wrong.
Year-round: neither. I've lived in Houston. Based on that experience, I much prefer a colder extreme because with the right clothes, it's easy to bundle up to stay warm. Outside of staying indoors, I never found a way to manage the heat and humidity. Also, agree with the comment on 4 seasons.
haha? totally subjective. chicago has brutal winters, houston has awful humid summers. which would bother you more?
i just don't get why the comparison is chicago and houston as opposed to any other northern city and any other gulf coast city. it's not like the climates in chicago and houston are all that special. Boston vs New Orleans would be basically the same comparison.
and besides this poll will tell you nothing other than personal preferences. I hate cold weather, it's my least favorite part about living in philly. i feel totally fine living in the heat and humidity so i'd say houston. but if someone hates humidity and likes cold weather he'd pick chicago. what does it matter? it's not like either answer is right. it's not like i could convince the other guy through logic that he's wrong and hot weather is better.
Since I hate heat and humidity more than anything, any place hotter than middle TN gets a giant thumbs down from me. I'd take Chicago over Houston without batting an eyelash. Plus Chicago is just an awesome city anyway.

I think it's just a throwaway poll that someone created as a time waster. No biggie. I think Chicago and Houston are both noted for their respective weather being extreme and miserable-- just at different ends of the spectrum. FWIW, Chicago has pretty crappy weather, but I do like the change of seasons.
