Nice photos. ABQ looks like a nice place for people who want to settle down...looks calm and quiet.
It is nice & quiet, with great weather, all four seasons, and a colorful picturesque setting with the Sandia mountains in the background........along with the Rio Grande snaking through the city creating a metropolitan oasis!
I've never been to the Southwest, but I picked other. Just on the basis of climate, Flagstaff, Arizona seems really neat. Close to Phoenix, but the summer isn't even as hot as it is here in NJ, and with a high diurnal range allowing for cooler nights, unlike the humid 70-75 degree summer nights we have here. Plus decently cold winters with lots of snowfall.

I forgot about Flagstaff, that might be the only city in the Southwest that I would want to live in.
Phoenix easily... way more to do than the others, all 4 major pro sports, spring training, multiple college football bowl games... if your the artsy type Scottsdale holds its own, close to san diego, LA, Vegas, and Mexican Beaches(Puerto Penasco), and only an hour or so from Mountains.
There's no battle, Southwest living is all about getting out of the cities and into the beautiful SW wilderness. ABQ and PHX are more alike than different.
