trae the truth isnt what i would call a big mainstream artist.
I would definitely call Scarface a big time player and very respected player in hip hop. I will also say that Houston along with Miami were the home of the first major Hip Hop acts of the South. I will also say that Houston is very much known for its underground scene which is listened to heavily on the West Coast, Midwest, and throughout the South. South Park Coalition is big overseas. Yes, Houston isn't big as Atlanta on the mainstream tip (Thank God) nor does it run hip hop, but it definitely is a major scene. A top 10 scene at that.

but on a serious note, Im not saying its the most influential, but its rock and roll roots are still very much a part of Cleveland. Even its current branding. From Kid Cudi, to The Black Keys, to The White Stripes, to Pere Ubu, and to Franz Welser-Möst, the city has a very deep influence on all music.

How can Cleveland claim The White Stripes? I thought they were from Detroit.

Pittsburgh deserves some mention as Mac Miller and Wiz Khalifa are from there.

Miller Wiz and Mac Khalifa?

That's too bad.

I'm glad my city can boast Bob Dylan and Prince, while you're happy about Wiz Khalifa singing a song about colors and miggety mac singing about donald trump. Wizzy and Maccy will get you some dudebro points in the HS cafeteria, but other than that no one gives a flying F.

Glad you understand the premise of this thread. Post 2000, both of those guys are pretty popular. Besides, why are you attacking them to begin with?

Besides myself & Lifeshadower is there anyone else on this forum that listens to things like this? Or goes to concerts for music like this? Come on, I know this is popular in Miami, New York, Dallas, & Chicago.

Is this going to be another thread that just talks about crappy fly by night "rap" artists and ignores other genres like many threads on this message board do?
