NYC just misses ( I mean by a few miles) and oddly Philly is actually based on some definitiones either considered humid subtropical or in the transisitional area.

SF, I don't think it belongs as a capital of a Med climate, because it is too cool to represent one. San Diego would be better as a Med capital, And Honolulu better as a tropical capital because it is actually in the tropics, unlike Miami.

Semi-arid: San Diego (IK, same climate as LA, but also semi-arid)
