Neither do I. Just saying when putting Winston and Greensboro together, there's a bigger variety of choices, not saying Harrisburg doesn't have enough.
But if it's not in Winston, a 35 minute drive, you'll be in High Point/Greensboro compared to Harrisburg having to travel to Baltimore/Washington as the next nearest, biggest city.
Lancaster, Reading and Allentown don't count? Way closer to Hburg than Bmore or DC.
Does the Piedmont Triad have an answer to Hershey?

High Point/Greensboro vs Baltimore/Washington (and Philly too). Hmmm.
This may be a close call and what may help Harrisburg is its proximity to Baltimore.
Harrisburg will obviously win on proximity to other cities with Baltimore, Philly, DC, and Pittsburgh all being within reasonable driving distance. But from what I can tell, it seems like the two match up well in most other categories.

I agree. I think people underestimate the Harrisburg metro, because of the smaller city size, but there are a bunch of other smaller cities in or close to that metro area too. Interestingly, on a side note, Harrisburg is also a predominately Black city, with a growing Hispanic community, which may surprise some people not familiar with the area as well. This diversity extends into the suburbs into school districts like Susquehanna Township, Steelton-Highspire, Central Dauphin and even Middletown and Hershey. You would probably like the Susquehanna Township area, if you considered the area.

I knew Harrisburg had Black folks but didn't know the city itself was predominantly Black; that was interesting.

Am nearly positive Harrisburg is closer to NYC than Pittsburgh
DC/Baltimore/Philly/NYC are all within about two hours of Harrisburg
