Not really.

It has the lowest unemployment rate in Texas right now.

I don't see the appeal with Las Vegas, Orlando, or Phoenix. Outside of the LV strip its very bland IMO. Phoenix feels like one big suburb and Orlando is too touristy.

Well thank goodness you don't have to worry about where everyone else decides to live and we don't have to worry about where you chose not to!

Vegas is interesting...Nevada is the fastest growing state at the moment, and since its surrounded by desert, I could only really see expansion centered in Metro areas. I guess you could amass a bunch of depressing sub-divisions.

Surveys like that don't matter to me. All that matters is where I'd want to live:

1. Atlanta (or any Georgia city)
2. Seattle (would be #1 if it weren't for the weather)
3. Denver
4. Portland, OR
5. San Diego (lived there once and wouldn't mind living there again, but prefer the above cities)
6. Austin or Charlotte
7. Maybe Chicago or Cincinnati

This is not where people 'want' to live, but where people are searching for homes.

The Harris Poll survey on what cities people actually would live in is far more precise as far as asking point blank: If you could in or near any city, which one would it be?

Also just because people want to live somewhere doesnt mean they actualy live their i know alot people that want to move to big cities but they dont, they have to face reality and go somehwere that will do the best for them.
Your HS friends are not really even representative of your HS, let alone the nation.
