Both cities are home to NHL franchises established in 1970: The Canucks and Sabres, respectively. Both cities are located on large bodies of water and have a love-hate relationship with the City of Toronto. Metro Vancouver's population is roughly 2.5m. Buffalo's sits at closer to 1.2m.
Criteria:
- historic architecture
- professional sports teams
- chicken wings
- cost of living
- proximity to large metropolises (3 million+)
- freeways/ road infrastructure
Location: northern Vermont - previously NM, WA, & MA

So even though Vancouver is head and shoulders above Buffalo, a patently favorable list for Buffalo is created with closed ended answers? Well in that case I much prerfer Vancouver wings anyways, they got more kick.....
Why not try Buffalo vs. Winnepeg or Edmonton? Then you'll have a poll with cities in Buffalo's league.

Edmonton though has actually won some Stanley Cups so that really puts it way ahead of Winnipeg and Buffalo(and Vancouver as well)...
I mean that's what we're talking about in this thread right? Hockey teams?
Whatever the ridiculous criteria you dream up won't overcome the fact that Vancouver is a much nicer city than Buffalo ever thought of being.
Buffalo used to be a pretty good city. Vancouver.... ehhh.... ok, but nothing spectacular. The people there just strike me as walking zombies with their heads planted up their behinds, throwing a bumper sticker on their cars and think that this alone will change the world.
I much prefer San Francisco for that type of city
I think Buffalo is underrated personally and if in another state (NY is very oppressive to live in these days) it would be much better off

However, Buffalo zombies just throw Bills bumper stickers on their cars and curse Scott Norwood...
Of course the difference between Vancouver and Buffalo zombies will be explained in depth on the next season of "The Walking Dead."
Vancouver is one of the most beautiful cities in the world with one of the if not the highest quality of life in the world on a consistent basis. Aside from Chicken Wings, Vancouver by thousands of kilometres or miles.
