Chicago's murders are picking up, it seems. I'm certain it will surpass last year's numbers.

So you're cheering for more people to get murdered?

There have been 6 murders this month.........there would need to be almost 60 murders in the next two weeks to even be on pace with last year. How on earth is the pace "picking up"?

Toronto so far has reported 12 homicides in 2013 which is 20% higher than this time last year. Of those 12 homicides, 5 were gun related.

Well, your impression of the murder rate in Chicago is not supported by the evidence. 43 in January, 14 in February, so far 7 in March. Obviously its too early to know for certain, but it appears that the rate is decreasing. Just because you're a Philly homer doesn't mean you should root for the downfall of Chicago. That's just plain rude.

He didn't seem to be cheering to me. Seemed to just be offering an opinion.

But not an opinion based in any actual evidence

Well looking at his other posts and happening to see his posts that were deleted by the admins (where he openly stated he was hoping for anything that would lead to the downfall of Chicago) - he wasn't really looking at any facts and just hoping for violence and negativity. My comments made more sense if you saw the posts that were deleted.

February:
2012: 14
2011: 29

March through the 18th:
2012: 7
2011: 29

The same Friday-Monday weekend that we just went through:
2012: 2
2011: 12

He stated things are really picking up. They're clearly doing quite the opposite.

That guy's a Philly troll not a homer. Real Philly homers love Chicago .

Did you mean 2013? You only put 2012 and 2011.

As of 3/10, New York City has had 52 murders. 24% less compared to last year at the same time. Cold winter keeping things down? Bronx has had only 8 murders til 3/10.
