The Aon center in Chicago is the closest sister replica to original WTC IMO, though not exact, it's closest in height/form... also 4th or 5th tallest building in North America
One World Trade Center. It' has some flaws, some of which I don't like, but I feel it's generally a better building.
I do gives the Sears tower it's props for the lobby, I really love it.
In terms of height, 1wtc spire takes it to it's height.
I'm with you, having a tall glass skyscraper is nothing special and everyone has one in a sense, its the pre WW2 skyscrapers of New York that are the superstars on my eyes.

That's how I feel. The more modern and sleek they are the less impressive they are. I like the old look. I do like the Willies Tower better than the 1WTC still. I like the design of it. I like that it is black. It makes it stick out.
The 1WTC I feel like I have seen before. It's a typical modern glass skyscraper.
Empire State building on the other hand is a beautiful structure. It has them all beat.

Chicago once had it's own version of ESB proposed that would have been built in the southside but it died unfortunately.
