Dude look at that satellite. NYC jumped over Western Jersey which is very rural/mountainous, the Delaware River,Eastern Pa,The Lehigh Valley(very wildernistic area) and the Lehigh River to claim Allentown.

Its a joke The OMB is out of their tree with this CMSA nonsense.

I have been tryiong to educate the masses that the CMSA is garbage. Its trash.

The CSA connection was largely due to Warren County, NJ which is part of the Lehigh Valley MSA. To be fair that county does offer commuter rail service to NYC on the NJT Montclair-Boonton Line and the Morristown Line. Are you trying to say that NYC wrongfully and secretly changed the numbers to make the region look good on the stat sheets?

What I am saying is that Allentown should not be part of the NYC metro area.

HERE IS ALL THE INFO AGAIN IN ONE POST, and CORRECTED TO REFLECT THE ACCURATE DATA FOR NY and Minneapolis
*There is no data for the Poughkeepsie Metro Area
* No Micro Area data is available, but their numbers are too small to really affect any change in the overall ranking
* I didn't rank Cleveland as 18th because it doesn't have the 18th highest GDP(that would be Portland which is just shy of 3 million people), but is included in this list because it has a population of 3 Million+

Allentown and it's immediate areas probably have a very low commuter rate to the New York MSA. So in a sense I can understand your argument on that part but that fact remains that the Lehigh Valley MSA includes Warren County, NJ and that county was able to reach the CSA threshold with the NYC area while still maintaining the 25% MSA threshold for the Allentown MSA. If trends continue the way they are, Philly and NYC will combine into one CSA in the near future(if not already in some cases).

The Los Angeles CSA will most likely surpass the New York CSA in population and GDP as well in the next 20 years if Philly isn't added to the New York CSA. So even from a conspiracy perspective it makes a lot of sense.

For Atlanta not to have another MAJOR city included in its CSA, that figure is amazing.
