This is a pretty hard question. It really depends on what type of seafood you like most. If you're into sushi I would say the West Coast is superior. Monterey bay clam chowder and Boston clam chowder are both equally good. Pacific Salmon is better than Atlantic Salmon IMHO. I like Blue crab of the East Coast more than West Coast Dungeness crab. Some jumbos with Old Bay is enough to get your mouth watery! With all that said I'm going with the East Coast because it has the greatest variety of options of marine life. From Maine down to East Florida and everything in between there are countless seafood options with so much variety of species of marine life that is edible. I like the fish market scene on the West Coast better, especially the PNW. Overall the East Coast is the best to me.

Hawaii has some of the best seafood I've had anywhere for sushi, ahi poke, mahi mahi. I once had mahi mahi with a macademia nut glaze and mango salsa on Maui that was to die for.

Alaska is great too, I had freshly caught shrimp there. Shrimp has never been the same for me since, it had texture and flavor like I've never had before. They got the giant sea scallops up there too and incredible halibut.

But for my favorite I have to answer this biasedly, I love my New England seafood the best for boiled Maine lobster, lobster rolls, steamed littleneck clams, Wellfleet oysters, and New England clam chowdah! So I voted the East Coast. I'm heading back to Cape Cod this summer, I can't wait to indulge!

Boston and Baltimore alone wins in this department.

Yeah because there is no way some people might prefer the regional / geographical specialties from the other coasts...

IMO, when it comes to seafood, there is lobster, steamers, and then everything else.

East coast.

This is too tough. Crawfish and shrimp from the gulf, west coast crab legs, east coast blue crab and red lobster and that's just the shellfish! Im bowing out of this discussion too close to choose.

I'm an East Coast cat. A few years ago I was in California visting friends. One night they had dungeness crabs for dinner. They were going on and on about how good dungeness crabs are. I didn't have the heart to tell them that I'd jump over fifty dungeness crabs to get to one Chesapeake Bay blue crab.
