That's what I as thinking. Atlanta is also a much prettier city than Dallas.

Both cities have advantages over the other, but over all they are actually very similar. Atlanta is a Southeastern version of Dallas to the extent that Dallas is a Great Plains version of Atlanta.

But OP, it sounds like you like outdoor activities. If that is the case then I would choose Atlanta in a heartbeat. I live in the Dallas area and I love it here, but Ill be the first to admit Atlanta is a far more pretty city and that you'll have an easier time finding good things to do outside. Dallas has advantages over Atlanta, but those aren't them.

Nope but they do make the city look very sleepy as well as a bit bland. Handsome city nonetheless.

Think outside the box and expand your geography knowledge!

It is strange that you are limiting yourself to these two cities. There are other notable cities where you can salt water dive year round, and this includes SHORE diving or taking one of numerous charter boats to dive. There is current diving and freshwater diving, wall diving, spearfishing, technical diving as deep as you are allowed to dive based on your certification, and wreck diving. If you're hard-nosed as a scuba diver, you can travel a bit in your car and do some altitude diving and maybe some ice diving. To be seen are marine mammals, large anemones and other invertebrates, fish, sharks [somewhat elusive] and even skates [rarely], etc.). AND HERE you would ALSO be within an hour or two of snowboarding and skiing for as many as six to eight months of the year. In fact, you can do both in the same day (but that would be a long day), and be employed in the software industry to boot. No flying necessary for either activity from this region of the country. (Although why not? Here there are air connections to multiple domestic and international destinations.)

Untrue. I go scuba diving here in Los Angeles in the channel islands, we have pretty good scuba diving here and the water temps in the summer are around 65-70F, not 80 degree Florida water but it's fine with a 7mm wetsuit, gloves and hood. In the winter SoCal has Big bear just an hour away, the snowboarding is not great but it's something, however 5 hours away in Central CA is Mammoth mountain and June Mountain, both have fantastic skiing/snowboarding.

Someone get this person a glass of water. They are boiling on the inside. Steam is rising from there head

True, those are nice photo threads but they focus a lot on houses and outlying areas. There are a few photo threads over on SkyscraperPage that show more of the urban core and are more lively.

Here's one: Atlanta: The Chaos Theory

I'm aware of the unemployment rate; I never actually disagreed with that. I simply said that the job market is much better for tech.
