It's probably been mentioned but Miami Beach (technically a separate city) outshines Miami's Downtown by so many leaps and bounds it's not even funny.

You could remove Miami and a bunch of other needless south Florida burbs, and Miami Beach by itself will punch with a lot of bigger cities.
