I can't find any data for Seattle's murder count as of 2015, but in the entire year of 2014 we had a total of 26 homicides, including homicides caused by a police officer in pursuit of a suspect. That seems pretty darn good for a year total!

I'm slightly surprised LA has more than Oakland and I'm VERY surprised SF has more. Oakland is by far the scariest place I've ever been, my friends an auto zone delivery man there and he's been shot at twice. His delivery van has bullet holes, a guy just opened fire at a stop light at him. I visited and I was afraid for my life most of the time. I've been to Detroit, St Louis, Chicago, they don't come close to how I felt in oakland, it felt like a 3rd world country.

Not a good start for Chi-town but still way off the peak rate of the early 90s when there were a few years with over 900 total murders for the year.
