If it was Atlanta vs NYC, Atlanta vs Washington DC, Atlanta vs Boston, I'd go with the colder cities. Yes their weather sucks compared to Atlanta, but I feel their other qualities make up for the terrible weather. Now Boston would be borderline since I don't feel it adds much as her weather subtracts away. My sister lives in Boston btw, goes to Harvard.
But when it comes to Pittsburgh and Minneapolis, when no city has a clear advantage, then yes weather will have a significant role. I also like Pittsburgh as a city better.
But when you're like me, and can live wherever you want and income and money is not an issue then things like weather becomes crucial, as well as urban and natural amenities. Not so much COL, available jobs, and other silly things like that. That's why I live in Miami, to me it's the best mix of weather, urban and natural amenities.

This one comes down to who ever has the most Homers/Boosters.... Doubt very many have actually been to both Cities to make a fair comparison, even though they are comparable based on certain metrics.

Minneapolis might win for economy and sheer acreage of park space...
But for history, high culture, regional location, weather, higher education, variety of outdoor opportunities, etc., neighborhood feel/mom & pops, it strikes me that Pittsburgh would win rather handily. Would anyone dispute that? I'm not meaning to say that Minneapolis isn't an attractive city or that it doesn't have those other things, just that Pittsburgh at least from an objective standpoint would seem to have "more" and "better".

Yup, and the Minneapolis and midwestern posters in general, seem to be highly passive aggressive. Somehow I'm trolling by preferring Pittsburgh
Unlike probably cheese head and Minni-Chi-Cbus, I lived in Minneapolis for 1 year and my sister lived in Pittsburgh for 3 years, been to Pittsburgh countless times visiting her. I'm one of the few who can rate these cities against each other.
