I personally describe it as more humid than hot. In the middle of a South Florida summer, your shirt will be soaked from sweat, but the sun doesnt have that searing feeling like you get in Dallas or Phoenix.

At 25.5N, Miami is only about 2 degrees away from having the sun directly overhead during the summer solstice. I'd imagine the sun 'sears' more in Miami than either Dallas or Phoenix.

What Dallas and Phoenix are both is hotter.

As Miami is closer to the equator, that is correct. But since the average summer high is only around 90 degrees and the sun has considerable cloud cover to compete with, for me, it's still more comfortable than the typical 95 degree day in Dallas.

I'll take warm waters and a tropical climate over SF's cool weather. That's just me.

Lack of moisture in the air (single digit humidity and ultra low dew points) in PHX makes the sun feel far, far hotter than it does in Miami. Ive been to Miami and Orlando a few times, both in summer, and the sun there, while hot, isn't nearly as hot as in Phoenix. Trust me on that. The sun here feels like youre standing right next to a heat lamp.
