Greensboro NC is now at 28 murders for the year, and on target to hit 47 by year end. High Point is at 10 murders and on target for 17. This, after last year Greensboro had 36 murders and High Point had 6. They are only 5 murders from eclipsing last year's 42 and it's early August...

The interesting thing about this is that both of these cities are already over their average/normal murder rates, and are by a landslide leading the larger NC cities in homicide count this year. Greensboro's 9.76 current murder rate, and High Points 9.00, are not nearly amongst the highest in the nation, but are both very high by North Carolina standards. For comparison, Charlotte is at 6.53 murder rate right now, and Raleigh at 3.27...

Looking back to 1985, I believe Greensboro's high was 40 in 2007 and High Point had 14 in 1994.

I think both are gonna blow past their high totals. I haven't been to Greensboro in a few months and it's not a city that particularly feels dangerous, but they out there cutting up this year...

Where is Syracuse, Albany, Rochester, Buffalo this year?

As far as I know, 11, 5, 14 and 28. I believe that Schenectady has 2 and Troy has 1.
