Looks like the following week was also horrible with another 3 to add, bringing the total to 66 compared with 88 last year. Things started to slow down around this time last year, while this time it seem like it's starting to pick up after having a relatively quiet year.

Chicago number are down around 10% year to date.

A lot of that was from a much quieter October. Shootings down 37% in October over last year and murders are down 35%.

New York City is at 223 as October 29 same time in 2016 city saw 288 homicides if pace stay the same NYC will finish year under 300 homicides historic lows

Brooklyn saw 89 homicides this year compare to 114 at same time period in 2016
Bronx saw 59 compare to 81
Manhattan saw 28 compare to 30
Queens saw 39 compare to 40
Staten Island saw 9 compare to 19

Citywide there been 785 wounded in shootings compare to 998 in 2016 same time period

Chicago is at 578 despite high numbers again this year homicides in Chicago this year and shootings is still lower than last year but still high city is on pace for 697 homicides lower than 791 last year. Majority of homicides is on South and West Side of city but Chicago has to lower it murder rate by 50-70%. There been 10 deadly police shootings result in deaths. October saw slowdown in shootings and murders by 37%.
