Take that, Downtown Seattle! Google, Adobe and Oracle in Downtown SJ!!!!!
Nothing for us to 'take' - downtown Seattle already has offices for Oracle (including its cloud engineering team), Adobe has a presence in Fremont, and construction has started for a 600,000 sf Google campus in South Lake Union.
Also that will be less than half of what Amazon has in Downtown Seattle by the end of this decade.
I'm impressed anyway. That might be the biggest single announcement I've heard. It would ratchet DTSJ up a big notch, especially if a lot of housing supply comes with it.

Note: downtown is already on fire with over 15,000 housing units in the area and a booming economy. Dt. Seattle is where Downtown SJ was in the Dotcom days(3 office towers of Adobe headquarters and a surge of housing units downtown in the 90's-early 2000's). This is just another generational boom for downtown and a third downtown revival right before Google announcement. It'll be just a thick extra frosting for downtown.
That's hysterical. Long before you were born, Downtown Seattle was having boom after boom. That's why it's multiples of DTSJ's size. The 60s started things off. The 70s were epic. The early 80s were epic. The late 80s beat them both. The late 90s exceeded even that. The late 2000s set a new record. And the 2010-2017+ boom is blowing the doors of every one of those.
Every single one of those booms starting with the 70s added multiples of the current Adobe HQ. Every one. For a while it was about 5x or 6x that per boom (5-6,000,000 sf). The current boom is getting close to 14,000,000 sf of offices for greater downtown including an apparent start this week. And about 26,000 new residential units, in an area of maybe 2,500 acres.

Don't forget that Downtown SJ boomed in the late 60's and early 70's with a total remake in the 80's. Total number residential units downtown: over 25,000 units and pop. of nearly 50,000(Downtown Frame).
*Note: San Jose is another league. It's the capital of Silicon Valley, high tech hub of the world, pop. over 1 million and very diverse with Bart running there this year.
San Jose is SAN FRANCISCO to anybody outside the US ..
Does that tell ya something ?? lol
