Becuz sometimes you're in a rush to go to work, school, or a family emergency. Or maybe your a55 and legs can start hurting from sitting too long. Some ppl get irritated and impatient. Plenty of reasons. Nobody wants to sit on a highway when they got important sh!!t to do.

that's why you plan ahead, I don't know how it works in in other cities, but in Seattle it's like clock work, very predictable. There are a few times when there are huge car accidents, but they are rare-ish, and you can always take back roads.

Easily Los Angeles.

Boston is overrated driving-wise. So is New York and Philadelphia.

The sheer volume of traffic alone makes Los Angeles take it.

Guess it depends on your definition of hard. Traffic is frustrating but pretty easy to drive in if you ask me.

why are people saying they are scared of driving in n.y.c. is it the belief that all cab drivers are like the taxi driver and will murder you in a road rage incident if you cut them off ?

what about n.y.c. traffic is more deadly than other places (aside from size of traffic).

sorry, its just not obvious to me why n.y.c. is dangerous. i drive around n.y.c. several times. waiting for the toll at the lincoln tunnel is annoying; its not dangerous.

I would have to say it's between dc and Boston. 395 in dc should of never been designed the way it was going thru dc then basically ending. It should go straight thru. Boston just have to many roads in my op

I find San Francisco very challenging to drive in due to the combination of density/high foot traffic, irregular street grid, major hills, and narrow streets.

Drivers are more aggressive and they cut you off more often. People have less patience. Cars and buses often drive within inches of you.

That's the sort of stuff you experience in and around NYC more than anywhere else in the U.S. Not exactly deadly, but not for the faint of heart either. :-)
