Ok, so it’s as simple as sounds. Excluding Buckhead & Palm Beach, which of these neighborhoods/cities are best example of affluence and status in the Southeast. You can even use the adjacent areas of these places in justifying your response. I don’t feel like any of these places need the inclusion of their respective states.

Mountain Brook
Belle Meade
Uptown/Carrollton
Mount Pleasant
Myers Park/East Over
San Marcos/Ortega
Windermere

Let’s discuss.

Well, I don't call myself Ben Around for nothing, but I've never heard of most of them!

This is hilarious, OP lists a handful of areas like everybody should know these places and/or agree they are the "best". Lol you'd have done better leaving it open for people!

New Orleans, I would guess.

My choice is Mountain Brook, as it is IMO the quintessence of what the OP is alluding to.

Other 'enclaves' I would add to the list:

Riverside (Jacksonville)
Druid Hills, Historic Brookhaven (Atlanta)
Coral Gables, Fisher Island, Star Island (Miami)
Palma Ceia (Tampa)
Franklin (Nashville; a favorite of country music stars)
Winter Park (Orlando)
Port Royal (Naples)

Outside of a large city, I would add some of the really exclusive island communities:

Sea Island, GA
Kiawah Island, SC
Jupiter Island, FL

I was under the impression you despised Miami—surprised to see Gables (including Cocoplum), Star and Fisher Island from you (though I am not disagreeing) and would add Hibiscus Island, Sunset Islands, Venetian Islands, and La Gorce Island.
