I was trying to lend some credence to the economies(populations) of scale argument some are going here. I met a nice ethiopian girl from Richardson TX when I was in school in CT. She talked about Dallas glowingly. I agree with you

1. NYC

2. Boston
3. Miami

4. DC

5. Chicago
6. Houston

Also went to 5th grade in Randolph, MA... my class (19 students), 2 from Nigeria, 2 from Cape Verde, 2 from Senegal, 1 from Togo, 4 Haiti, 1 Jamaica .... 3 Whites, 2 Vietnamese Students, 1 Chinese, and 1 I dont know, presumably just African American.
-The other class had 21 students and had ~5 Haitians, 2 Somali students, ~2-3 Cape Verdeans and a few historically African Americans.

Had two kids with the last name Onwuatuegu.. One was Nigerian, other was from Togo.

Also does anyone know the religious division of African migrants to US? In the South Shore of Boston, most of the West Africans were christian (90%+). I believe the number inWest Africa s more closer to about 45-50%

Chicago? I would think their black population is even more American than Houston, Dallas, and even Atlanta.

Chicago? I had a friend from Chicago in Boston a few years ago he said "n*gga....am I in another country?"

Chicago had a handful of haitians but is UBER AFRICAN AMERICAN. Baltimore and Philly are more diverse by a good deal.

Yeah, Chicago's black population is less diverse than pretty much any other major metro sans Detroit. Every metro area weve been talking about (Boston, NYC, DC, Miami, Dallas, Houston) as well as places like Atlanta, Philadelphia, and LA have more diverse black populations than Chicago does.

I have no idea why DFW is anywhere in this conversation? Please add Minneapolis. Finally, kudos to Boston's foreign born African population, but isn't that the most racist large metro in the US?

That's subjective, but a good argument could be made. I do believe it has the worst racial wealth and income disparity. It does better on education, Healthcare, and crime. It is also one of the fastest diversifying large metro in the US. It is by far the most quickly diversifying in the norrheast.

Greater Boston has 147 towns. Every single one of them saw an increase in non white population from 1990-2017. EVERY single town loss white population. Not one town gained white population from 1990-2017.

The non white population of Boston suburbs increased by 264 percent fron 1990-2017. Bostons non white population increased by 63%.

"Rising black immigration is rapidly reshaping Massachusetts, where the black community is already one of the most diverse in the nation. A third of the roughly 470,000 black people in Massachusetts are immigrants, compared with nearly 9 percent nationwide."

Because DFW has the 3rd largest African population in the US after NYC and DC maybe?

Saying DFW doesn’t belong in this conversation is quite ignorant.
