The Miami skyline is very nice and also quite big. It looks great along the water. It is definitely a good candidate for third place along with SFC.
I think the LA skyline is highly underrated. Outside of NYC and Chicago it has some of the tallest building in the country. IMO it is was one of the coolest looking skylines.

Technically Las Vegas still holds the title of the tallest free standing structure (The Stratosphere) in US West of the Mississippi and outside Chicago & NYC
Miami has by far the largest skyline out of these choices. Take a look at the two pics below to see what Miami's skyline looks like now. The first photo doesn't even show the entire skyline that's behind the photographer and it doesn't show the tallest building in Florida either, the Panorama Tower. It really is quite amazing that that area has transformed so much in such a short amount of time. Miami wins this thread easily.

The Stratosphere is 1149' to the tip of the spire.
So yes... It's taller than LA's Wilshire Grand Center (1100') and Philly's Comcast Technology Center (1121') which are the two tallest buildings outside of Chicago & NYC atm
Las Vegas (like Miami) spreads laterally so it looks like a giant 4 mile "wall" of skyscrapers, so I give it the nod against Seattle in visual grandure. Because both have one singular skylines, they look larger than Atlanta's, LA's & Houstons indavidual cluster(s). After them, I'd put Philadelphia ahead of Boston because of it's super-tall, with Dallas coming last as it lacks the high level density of former 2.
After these cities there's a massive drop off in skyline size (DC being an outlier)
Outside of NYC & Chicago and possibly Miami, and can't think of any US Skyline that hits you in the face as hard as Vegas does from a visual standpoint.

I see. I was looking at the list of tallest structures and you meant buildings.
