I just thought of another reason for Atlanta. I tend to speak my mind no matter where I live. Gun ownership is higher in Texas than Georgia. Therefore, for health reasons, I choose Atlanta.
Would it hurt to just play along and not be all that technical about it?
He does make one valid point though. A very wealthy person isn't likely to be concerned about road trip destinations when they could easily just hop on a plane to wherever in the world they want to go. And you can fly from Dallas to the Rockies in the same amount of time that you can drive from Atlanta to the Blue Ridge mountains.
Dallas for sure. It's just a nicer more upscale and cleaner city with several very large suburbs to choose from that still have lots of urbanity (Plano, Frisco, Fort Worth, Arlington). Atlanta is more scenic with trees but you get that big beautiful Texas sky in Dallas.
Also, Dallas is growing faster and attracting corporations faster which means more/better future security for growth.
Lastly, we have two very good airports (DFW and Love Field) that are much more accessible than Hartsfield being way down in south ATL. It's so nice to have that Love Field option for Southwest flights. Easy in/out.
ATL: More depreciated old tricked out Bentleys and Rolls
DFW: More brand new Bentleys and Rolls
There are many residual benefits to having more people with deeper pockets.
ATL gets the big nod though for mountains and beaches.
I picked Atlanta. Dallas is much too conservative and Jesus-y to stomach.
Are you talking about the Dalles or Dallas, Texas? Because if you are talking about the one in Texas, the city at least, conservative isn’t what comes to mind.
Atlanta seems a little more socially liberal than Dallas even though it is deeper in the South.
I got family in Atlanta and I definitely would not put them in the category of socially liberal. My family in Texas tends to be a lot more liberal then my family from GA from my observation. But to each his own.
At any rate, both cities have a similar feel in terms of cultural awareness and no one should feel unwelcome in either.
