Can't believe nobody in this thread has talked about shrimp ? A seafood platter with Jumbo fried butterfly shrimp, broiled snapper , fried oysters, scallops , some potato's along with a good cocktail sauce and a cold beer, ummmmm good
Also to the guy who posted about fried catfish caught in a pond, that ain't seafood dude..lol.
What are you basing this on? How familiar are you with the state outside of Orlando?
Ive had seafood in Miami, Melbourne, Tampa, Sarasota, Jacksonville, Fort Lauderdale, Panama City, Destin, Fort Walton (?), Kissimmee, Oviedo, Oldsmar (Near Tampa) and Miami Beach. Nothing has yet to appease me. The only major cities I havent had seafood in would be Key West, West Palm Beach, Fort Myers, Naples, Pensacola and Key Largo.
I'm a 2nd generation Portuguese American from Massachusetts where some of my family used to fish out from New Bedford up until the early 00s. I'm a seafood snob from the fact that my family puts fresh seafood out on the table.
Also as ive said, I much prefer cold water seafood to warm.

Perhaps, Newport OR for fresh seafood. Clams and crabs you can catch you own fairly easily. Sea Perch off of the jetty. Other seafood, including tuna, halibat, rockfish, cocktail shrimp, salmon, you will have to wait till the boat comes in or on charter.
For cooked Seafood, I am not sure.

I love all kinds of seafood., my favoites places for what they do well...
New England - Maine lobster, steamed clams, Cape scallops, Haddock, Wellfleet oysters. New England overall has my favorite selection, especially for shellfish. The poll on the thread focuses on major cities (why is Denver and Dallas on the poll?), and I voted Boston but... none of my favorites seafood restaurants in NE are in Boston, they are all on the North Shore, Cape Cod, or Maine.
Maryland - The only place to get crab cakes (they seem bland everywhere else). Maryland crab is the best!
New Orleans - Shrimp and softshell crab
Seattle - Clam chowder in Seattle is just as good as Boston. Seattle gets a lot of the great Alaskan catch brought in and is the place for salmon and Dungeness crab.
Vancouver - Not the US, but I'm very picky about where I get Sushi. Vancouver has an abundant selection of fresh and excellent sashimi and the best I've had anywhere.
Alaska - I had the good fortune of deep sea fishing out of Homer, Alaska and catching a 15 pound halibut. Shipped most of it home, and grilled some that evening. Best fish I ever had.
Hawaii - Poke and Mahi Mahi.
