In the case with Philly is that its exist in the space it is based on past glory. Philly's economy and statue in fields like ib the tech sector just isnt growing as rapidly as cities like Atlanta.
Philly has a GDP of 444b vs Atlanta at 397b.Thats not a huge difference.
If you look at just how much Atlanta economy has grown after being one of the hardest hit metros during the recession,it has not only surpassed Philly in Change in GDP it came from a deficit to do it.
You can see the trajectory here under "change in GDP" https://www.opendatanetwork.com/enti...compare-entity
Houston and Dallas already passed Philly and Atlanta will also withing probably 5 years or so.
Either way Atlanta has a much bigger profile with and economy that is close to equal. Its ridiculous for some on here to act as though Philly has this insurmountable economy where Atlanta is trailing so far behind.
My prediction for these threads, if they continue:
7. Houston
8. Atlanta
9. Dallas
10. Philadelphia
11. Seattle
12. Miami
13. Detroit
14. Minneapolis
15. Denver
Not so sure about Seattle and Miami though, but I feel like CD is generally more inclined towards the former.
I agree kinda... I really think 8 - 9 and 10 are pretty much equally arguable with Philadelphia having a very slight edge against Atlanta and Dallas..but only barely.
I'd say for the most part they're 8,9 and 10 are for the most part equals in importance.

Sucks that the #7 thread got shut down so quickly because of spammers voting with multiple acct.
On to number 8 I guess. Really tough choice between ATL, Philly and DFW
I've actually stuck up for ATL quite a bit on C-D. But, if it ever happens, nobody on this thread will be alive to see the day that Atlanta is a more premiere city than Boston.
Face it.

I like Atlanta more than Boston. Id much rather live in Atlanta than Boston. But if the question is regarding which city is more important and premier, there is no way in hell Boston isnt the answer here.
Frankly, I dont think Atlanta belongs in the conversation for number 7 either. Houston definitely makes a more compelling case. Arguments can be made for Philly and Dallas too.

The end of the day, Atlanta isn't some hugely important or influential city. Regionally, it absolutely is. I'd agree with you, that Philadelphia, Dallas, and Houston all probably beat out ATL if we're talking influence, importance. To me, Seattle should be right there too, and gets my nod over ATL.
Y'all,
You need to realize the truth.
And you need to face it.
Atlanta is #6. Boston is almost there...but, due to rounding, it is #7. They are really about on the same level.

That's probably how Dallas weirdly got all them votes on that day.

And yeah, the new #7 will be a showdown between Boston/Philadelphia, but Boston will take it most definitely.
Then, a #8 thread will be a battle between the Texas Twins (Dallas and Houston) and Philadelphia. This one will be very hard.

Denver above Phoenix and San Diego?
