I’ve heard you say Texans hate Austin, that’s a lie. I feel like you say this because Austin is supposed to be this “sanctuary” for West coast liberals in a sea of Red. Texans don’t generally hate other Texas cities specifically major cities believe it or not. Even Houston and Dallas tension is more rooted in friendly rivalry than an actual disdain for the other. Now I do think some Texans dislike the snobbish transplants that move to Austin and have some outdated perspective of cities outside of Austin. But Texas is a pretty unified state for the most part including Austin. Nice try non Texan!
For what its worth I think more of those snobs have migrated to Dallas and Houston than Austin. Most of Austin's growth has actually been domestic migration contrary to popular belief.
The only rivalry between Austin and OKC is College Football. Other than that Austin blows OKC out of the water other than traffic and Museums. Hell the amount of buildings that Austin is currently constructing adds up more than the entire OKC skyline! That does not include what's already finished and what's proposed.
This isn't a diss to Oklahoma City, cause I actually like the place. But considering Austin becoming a big city just shows the amount of progress that's taking place.
I like Austin and hate the state of Oklahoma as a whole, so...
Are you up to date on the latest about Oklahoma? Alcohol laws have greatly reformed and medical marijuana is legal. Oklahoma now easily has one of the most liberal legal medical marijuana programs in the country.
So unlike Texas, Oklahoma alcohol laws are now much more consistent from county to county. In Oklahoma, you just now have to know how prohibitive the alcohol laws are on Sunday and holidays in the county you are in. In Oklahoma City and Tulsa liquor stores can now open on Sunday, if they want to.
Make no doubt about it, whatsoever, a major reason why outsiders still feel great hatred against Oklahoma is because they have failed to update themselves on what all has happened in Oklahoma for the better since 2018.

Right. Austin should have been compared with Denver. Denver is a lot better city than Oklahoma City.
Admittedly I love Austin but I would probably choose Denver save for Austin's IT market and beautiful ladies. Austin's hills are gorgeous but they don't hold a candle to the Rockies. I'm honestly thinking of taking a drive up to Denver while everything is shut down as I havent seen it first hand since 2011.

I know all that... and I'd STILL rather be Texas.
Oklahoma sucks, no matter how much weed or alcohol laws and Native American casinos the state has, which isn't what everyone wants or even cares about.

What if Oklahoma copied after Texas and abolished the state income tax?
What if Oklahoma copied after Texas and abolished the state income tax?
Could they really afford to?
Besides as much as I love Austin I'm not going to pretend our property tax is anything to sneeze at.
