Recently but yea they've got underground stations.

That's semantics dude. I don't know if thats even true or not. It's modern-looking uncharming rapid transit that isn't a part of the history of the region. Underground doesn't really matter. I don't think any northeastern suburbs have underground stations.

Semantics? Dallas only has light rail. LA has a combination of subway and light rail. Once you get out of the city, it's all light rail. ATL has heavy rail but all of it is mostly at grade or above ground in the suburbs. DC is unique because some of its most affluent and popular suburbs have deep subway stations. I get the charming rail stops on the Main Line. But a suburb like Bethesda has charming, quiet streets with big mansions as well as a dense central business district with all of the amenities. To make a comparison with a sun belt suburb is super silly.

Most of the DC area, not necessarily Bethesda. This was actually originally foxed on NoVA.

But yea, Bethesda has areas like this:

Truthfully it doesn't really fit the mold of the places were talking about but were being inclusive and polite.

Compare it to these places

Exactly and there dozens of them in all these areas northeastern areas , actual dozens. That’s the only reason I’d say DC is sort of an outlier. To me old town Alexandria is a regular, nice, town center. It could be in the northeast somewhere. But all around it? Naw.

By no means an exhaustive list.. And I didn't even get into Cambridge or Somerville, which would be the Arlington and Alexandria comps.

Nor did I say DC burbs have no charm...And yes, the DC towns in the poll are blander than the towns mentioned in the other burbs, not sure what else there is to say about that...

Also, Alexandria a nice area, but I don't see how it equates to the Gold Coast, Main Line, Western Boston burbs, or West Chester County burbs...maybe explain more?
I never said such a thing, and have barely been commenting in this thread. You have me confused with another poster. Please don't confuse me with another poster.

Your quote was DC doesn't have suburbs that are "unique towns filled with old world charm, connectivity, history, varying architecture, walk-ability, and of course affluence."

This is your quote. With this being your criteria that you've stated in this thread Alexandria, VA by definition checks all boxes and makes your statement categorically false. Again all I do is jump in when non-factual things are being stated or need to be clarified. I've been to Main Line specifically and it's extremely prestigious, so you're barking up the wrong tree on those thoughts.
