I was searching the web for comparisons between these two states and I found very little, so I decided to start my own! Here's the criteria:

COL:
QOL (probably the most important):
Cities:
Suburbs:
Rural Areas
Transportation:
Public Schools
Higher Ed
Economy:
Arts/Culture:
Things to do:
Nightlife
Shopping:
Sports:
Food/Cuisine:
Outdoors:
Climate:
Crime:
State government:
Local government:

Which state would you prefer to live in?
Which state would you prefer to visit on vacation?

I should clarify that when I say "local government", I mean local municipalities and/or counties.

I voted, as I assume most people will, for Mass in each category. We're easily one of the countries most beautiful, unique and dynamic states whereas Missouri kind of gets lost in the mix of other Southern/Midwestern big box states. I'm proud to call Massachusetts home!

Massachusetts by a long shot but Missouri has some beautiful areas and nice people in the Ozark Mountain and Lakes areas.

Hmm I would go with Massachusetts for almost all. Both are great states, though!

There are places in Missouri I could live in. Most of those categories are subjective and I can say with absolute certainly Missouri would win most of them for my particular needs.

Massachusetts is not on my radar at all even for a visit, but parts of northern New England are okay and more interesting to me. Boston would be an interesting stop over on the way to Maine or something but I wouldn’t make a special trip to visit it.
