Very few cities in the US have any nightlife district that can rival the Southside flats in Pittsburgh. but it also has Shadyside, Oakland, North Side, Downtown, Strip District, and East Liberty. It also has (had) a pretty active underground culture and after hours nightlife culture, that I'm sure Columbus has no equivalent to. although I'm no expert on that city in Ohio I admit.
You are actually quite wrong that Columbus has no equivalent to these. The Short North is preferable to everything you listed.

Preferable just means YOUR preference. the south side flats is much larger and more to offer. Columbus is quite bland while Pittsburgh is quite the opposite.

You just said you don't know Columbus very well. I agree, you do not.

The Short North is a premiere urban neighborhood. I can’t think of any area of Pittsburgh of the same quality.
