Here is an article related to the millionaire aspect and NY...

The Story of Wall Street's First Black Millionaire: https://www.theatlantic.com/business...onaire/411622/

Also, speaking in terms of a historical context, here is Madam C.J. Walker's estate in Westchester County NY: https://savingplaces.org/places/vill...e#.YUeYXo5KiUk
https://www.townandcountrymag.com/so...-lewaro-house/ (not really Upstate, but some may consider anything north of NYC to be Upstate)

I believe another more recent example in NY: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raymond_McGuire

Texas because of no state tax. Anyones money will go just a bit farther. Black people too. Dallas and Houston are juggernauts.. and now that the secret about Dallas is out watch out. As for years black people overlooked the city but that has changed.

One thing for sure is this poll question included the right states. And it looks like we've reached the correct conclusion-Georgia.

EDIT: COL is a major component here. probably why Maryland is at 21. Oddly, they rank West Virginia and Kentucky as #1 and #2 for social and financial equality...
When whites are generally just as poor/lower middle class as black folks, stats like that make sense. West Virginia is very equal in that sense.

We will. But you can’t discount other groups, because Mexican Americans at least in Texas, definitely fall into that category too. I think it’s just general Texas spirit at play plus a little homegrown ingenuity.
Texas will basically let you do anything including causing a region of Houston to have some of the highest rates of cancer, if you can make a buck.
