Texas because of no state tax. Anyones money will go just a bit farther. Black people too. Dallas and Houston are juggernauts.. and now that the secret about Dallas is out watch out. As for years black people overlooked the city but that has changed.
Colorado Oklahoma seems very unexpected. Tenessee and Missipi make a lot of sense. This list seems less reliable as it doesn't include Maryland or Virginia...
One thing for sure is this poll question included the right states. And it looks like we've reached the correct conclusion-Georgia.
EDIT: COL is a major component here. probably why Maryland is at 21. Oddly, they rank West Virginia and Kentucky as #1 and #2 for social and financial equality...
When whites are generally just as poor/lower middle class as black folks, stats like that make sense. West Virginia is very equal in that sense.
Texas just has so many black people in raw number though, more than Georgia. Because of East Texas. Its business-friendly and relatively race-agnostic when it comes to money/business. It's that oil culture sorta.. they say Nigerians will do it all for a buck and that why they love Houston Texas, lol.
We will. But you can’t discount other groups, because Mexican Americans at least in Texas, definitely fall into that category too. I think it’s just general Texas spirit at play plus a little homegrown ingenuity.
Texas will basically let you do anything including causing a region of Houston to have some of the highest rates of cancer, if you can make a buck.
Which *state* would you argue has the best landscape for black upper class?
-Number, size and influence of black owned business in state
Georgia
-strength and acknowledgement of network
Georgia
-environment conducive to new black businesss
Tie between NY and GA
-openness and giving spirit of black wealthy individuals/families in the state
Maryland/D.C.
- promotion of black intellectualism and innovation
Looks like you may be right at least when it comes to this thread. Ga's currently in the lead.
