Thanks for this. But I’m confused. In what universe are Chinese/Korean immigrants are a higher % in comparison with Indians in Hudson and Middlesex? No chance that’s accurate.

They aren’t listed in order of concentration. All listed just have at least 0.5% of the total population. No particular order beyond that.

Thanks. Looks like what I would expect to see.

6 Countries
Cook, IL: Poland, China, Korea, India, Philippines, and Mexico

C'mon Chicago... 6 very established immigrant groups? Smh. The only kind of unique group here is Poland ironically.

My expectation is that immigration from some of these countries featured in the county lists, such as Italy and Japan, is on track to be very minimal in the future. Those are First World countries with very elderly demographics today, and immigration to the US is more prevalent among younger age groups.

On the other side of the coin, many countries in Africa and South/Southeast Asia with fast growing populations and lower economic development levels are likely to contribute more immigrants to the US going forward. Also unlike in much of the mid to late 20th century, these days immigrants are increasingly spreading out to many mid-sized and smaller metro areas in the US beyond the traditional "gateway" cities. This is leading to some surprising new immigrant clusters, such as Liberians in Fargo, ND or Burmese in Fort Wayne, IN.

The list of countries is not in order of population.

Miami-Dade is so, so, so dominant with it's Latin American diversity. Like it's literally the most diverse Latino place in the World. But that's where it ends, just Latin America.

Basically the same can be said for the other metro counties, and when all combined they have a total of 38 different countries, but out of the three only 1 country outside of Latin America appears briefly (India) for Broward County.
