Seattle is currently at 17 (2.75 per 100K)

Tacoma (30 minutes south of Seattle) is at 15 (7.5 per 100K)

Tacoma is on pace for nearly 60 murders this year, in a city with a population of 200,000. Gang violence has really erupted there recently.

Two more since this post. Chicago is going crazy right now.

Insane. I thought it would decrease after a couple of years but it seems like this is becoming the permanent state of affairs.

Double homicide in my old Virginia Beach neighborhood (Thalia South) last night:

https://www.wavy.com/news/local-news...irginia-beach/

The Beach is now at 9/1.96 thru April 5, 95 days of 2022. It would be unusual for this rate to hold the entire year, but if it does that puts the city on pace for ~34-35 by year end---->35 would pass the record of 34 from 2019 (13 of which were part of the atypical mass shooting)...

Chicago-141

Just to note, sun-times homicide tracker is off by 3 homicides, as the CPD reported 132 as of 4/3, with 9 more killed between yesterday and today. The latest three occurred in three separate communities on the south side.

I obviously don’t dispute the data but I visited Chicago this last week. Stayed downtown and I’m telling you it was very quiet

(WLBT) - The Jackson Police Department is investigating a deadly shooting on Highway 80.

The incident occurred on Highway 80 near I-220. According to Deputy Chief Deric Hearn, one person has been confirmed dead.

That person is a 43-year-old man who was shot and killed while driving a blue Dodge Charger.

One to two suspects then abandoned a Honda and ran away./

Jackson, MS - 33

I've been on Hwy 80 and i can see how so much shootings occur on it. It runs adjacent to different hoods on the westside.

Off topic: The only African/Caribbean market store in the state is near that location.

I’ve been wondering also. Information not easily obtained online. I feel like the Houston PD website promises numbers but then gives you the runaround.
