Nyc- 261. Had a real good week last week with only 7 murders.

Boston- 18, i think the last one about a week ago was skipped. Had 12 in beginning of July. Definitely ticked up last month.

Even then, before 2020, the city would reach 17-19 homicides by November. We're currently in August, so it's scary seeing how things have gotten out of control here.
Now 18 for Montreal, and as usual, the city and province are downplaying the rise of violence. Their excuse is MTL remains one of the safest major cities on the continent and these incidents are isolated (i.e, the problem will take care of itself).

Another interesting thing I found, looking at Miami Dade County, they do not factor the city of Miami in their homicide count.

The recent publication has MDC at 48 murders between January 2022-July 2022. But the Miami crime map has the county at 88 between February 10th to August 8th, with 30 in Miami proper between Feb 10th-August 8th. So it's safe to say MDC is hovering between 90-100 homicides for the year.

I know Miami's history but is it fair to call it a safe city now.

Much safer than before, but I'd still put it in the Yellow/Orange category of safety instead of Green.
