Umm well historically many in the inner party of socialists and communists have been stanch opponents of homosexuals and gay rights at least while governing the population of their countries.

Read some on Castro and Stalin for example.

Castro and Stalin aren't exactly liberals. They were (are) totalitarian dictators. That's like me comparing George Bush to Hitler. And it's been a few years, you know!

Most left-leaning moderates vote Democratic much of the time and most right- leaning moderates vote Republican much of the time.

So let me rephrase my earlier statement: many moderate left-leaning women and blacks that tend to vote Democratic voted against gay marriage in California. That was the deciding factor for gay marriage being voted down in California.
I'll agree with that. As a left-leaning moderate myself, I do side with Republicans sometimes. But I'm sort of permanently pissed off at that party on the national level, so they won't be getting my votes for President or Congress for decades unless they change things drastically.

I would do Columbia, it is central to everything and great transportation. The south loop is also up and coming and still has decent rent prices around there. I personally don't think it is up for comparison, if it was San Francisco vs. Chicago, then maybe you would have a decision on your hands. I would definitely go to Chicago over L.A. though, L.A. to me is more like a sprawling suburb that is over priced, it doesn't have a big city feel at all. You won't need a car if you are going to Columbia either, vs. L.A. I would say you almost definitely want one. If you are fine with the weather in Boston, isn't going to be much difference from Chicago.

Its funny. Those tyrants might not be liberals but liberals embrace Castro and Che as saviors. Liberals never made sense to me. These liberal fascist fight so much for animal rights, which included a ban on foie ban in Chicago, but they are such staunch supporters of pro choice which includes basically killing babies. I never understood that. Fight for the rights of duck and geese but not for a unborn baby. Also, most liberals do compare Bush with Hitler even though Bush took down two evil dictatorships.

I know a LOT of liberals, and none of them like Che or Castro in any way. Most (like 95%) are not animal rights fanatics. They don't compare anyone to Hitler other than actual Nazis. And some are even anti-abortion (though this is certainly not typical). You're confusing run-of-the-mill liberals with bat**** insane leftist radicals. One does not equal the other. And fascism is a right-wing movement, by the way!

I live in LA and absolutely love it. Ive been to Chicago and it is way to freaking cold and flat. I dont understand how people live without mountains or at least a little variety in the terrain. Lake Michigan also does not compare to the Pacific.
