To drive across Vermont wouldn't take all that long (still more than 8 minutes), but it's a pretty long state and isn't as small as you would expect. I took Amtrak through it a few times on my way to tournaments in HS.
So TN is exciting? The only 2 places that are interesting in that state are Memphis and Nashville, that's about it. Other than that, it probably isn't that different from VT.
You are correct about Tennessee. There is NOTHING exciting in this state.

I would rather go to TN as a vacation than VT though. But you probably couldn't spend more than 2 days site seeing in either one. In VT, really the only 2 things to see are the Ben and Jerry's ice cream factory and Cabot cheese. Pretty boring if you ask me, lol. At least with Memphis you'll see Graceland and other music-related things. I wouldn't go out of my way just to see one of those states though. It's the type of place I would stop by on my way to somewhere else. CA is a place I would definitely go out of my way to see
If you are bored, you are boring. You can't go to a place like Oklahoma and expect to be in NYC or Chicago. But what you can do, is pick up new interests that'll keep you occupied while you're in Oklahome or Nebraska. Try learning some horseback riding, kayaking/canoeing, hunting, take classes, learn a musical instrument, skydiving, paintballing, or anything else that sparks you interest. I wouldn't choose to live in some of the Great Plains states, but if I had to live there I'd make the most of it like anywhere else. BTW, you can be bored in NYC, Vegas, San Diego, and Hawaii too, trust me.

Good point. If you're pretty open-minded, you can make the most of a place you're visiting. I've been to very remote places and still found things to do. I grew up never seeing a cow until I was about 16. We just don't have them anywhere near I live. When I was 16 I really started traveling all over for ice hockey, so I often wanted to stop on the side of the road to see the cows and take pictures with them

Are you kidding?
Memphis itself is a music mecca, as is Nashville. Then you've got the Great Smoky Mountains and plenty of charming towns. TN is one of the states I want to visit most.
South Carolina Nothing for miles between Florence and Columbia and Mrytle Beach
From NC so already dislike the state
SC is very boring.
